:: TrikeDoubleThree :: Interview with Bernhard Lang and Christine Gaigg

TrikeDoubleThree is a piece of performative dance in conjunction with audio visual elements by Christine Gaigg (2nd nature) and Bernhard Lang.
The four dancers on stage, perform on sound panels by being video taped, the sound and video is sampled with the “visual loop generator” and reprojected on the screens in the middle of the stage (stage design: Philipp Harnoncourt). As a viewer you might loose the oversight of what is created by whom, is the machine following the human dancers or vice versa?

But somehow, it’s all about loops. We had the chance to talk to Christine Gaigg and Bernhard Lang, the creators of this piece where dance meets media art.

TrikeDoubleThree was shown at TQW, November 2009, Wien Modern Festival.

Hermann Josef Hack: The whole world is a Climate Refugee Camp

With climate change we all become nomads.

Interview with Hermann Josef Hack. German version only.

Monday, January 26th 2009, the german artist Hermann Josef Hack arranged 200 small tents on the square in front of the Brandenburger Tor to build a miniature version of a refugee camp, the world climate refugee camp. Hack’s art refers to current political issues, for him there is no distinction between art and politics. Furthermore he wants to get in direct contact with the public audience instead of presenting his work in institutional art spaces like museums. That’s why he presents his work in public spaces and likes to watch the reaction of the pedestrians, “the very ones who caused the changes that made people refugees in the first place”.

frame(o)ut – digital film festival in Vienna @ Museumsquartier

Oh how much I love Vienna in summertime! Cool fresh summer breeze… to be open air just somewhere around… and enjoying Viennas great cultural summer programm. I just came home from the opening night of the frame(o)ut festival that is currently going on – open air – in the Museumsquartier. Every friday and saturday night – from the 4th July to the 30th August – you have the chance to watch new digital short movies, open air with head phones.
So don’t forget to bring your driving licens or passport to get those radio headpones so that you can enjoy the videos with maximum sound without disturbing the sleepy neighbours….

What your’re gonna see for exemple are some great short films or music videos from the newest onedotzero compilation. Cause Onedotzero – the well known digital film festival and production company from London – is one of fram(o)ut’s cooperation partners as well as the real time generation fesitval that is also going on at the Museumsquartier. Further partners are Pictoplasma from Berlin, sixpackfilm, vienna independent shorts and ASIFA.

And here for you…some shorts of the shorts. Enjoy!

Interview with Gianluca Del GobboLive Performers Meeting in ROME: 29th of May – 1st of June

!!! Submission dealine: 30th April 2008 !!!

At the Vision’R in Paris I met Gianluca Del Gobbo, one of the two programmers of FlxEr – a flash based VJ software – and the coorganiser of the LPM – live performers meeting in Rome. Don’t forget to subscribe to this meeting, there are still a few days left!! It’s gonna be great, that’s for sure… and tagr.tv will report!
But now – listen what Gianluca has to say:

AV performances Part I @ Mapping Festival 2008

The first weekend of the Mapping Festival in Geneva past by too fast… and i tried to see and document every event… but to be honest it was not possible! What i saw… or let’s say experianced was great and all the different kinds of performances gave a good overview of how and in which context av technics might be used.
This ranges from the classical VJ set going along with a DJ playing or live audio visual sets in a night club to more experimental audio visual performances and installations shown in a museum of contemporary art.
The Festival still goes on till Sunday! So get your things packed and come!

And have a look at those videos…. even if the quality is not the best! i am gonna work on that… when i am back home, I promise.
