The exhibition series makes reference to her as a way of remembering and reimagining the rebellious spirit she embodies and took her “miseducation” not as a jeremiad about how she has been deliberately fed with false informations and withheld important knowledge in order to keep her in a subordinate and passive position. On the contrary, it’s the vision of the reemergence of a critical and creative media literacy that, like Anya Major, escapes the forces of control to express disobedient engagement with the media of contemporary society.

“Tools of Distorted Creativity” presented a series of contemporary works that expands the notions of software tools and their affordance of creativity in nonconformist and even dysfunctional directions.

A retrospective show of Sonia Landy Sheridan revealed her experimentations with machines of technological society as instruments of the philosophical mind and artistic imagination from inside educational institutions.

The Installation “Evil Media Distribution Centre”, by the duo YoHa (Graham Harwood and Matsuko Yokokoji) is an artistic response to the book “Evil Media” Jerome Bel chooses to put this handicap at the center of exactly this public´s attention, adopting it as a key to the reading of what enables us to think of a common dimension.

All is full of Love”).

weise7: the incompatible laboratorium

english

exhibition

interview

transmediale 2012

video

Bengt Sjölén

Binär platten

Brendan Howell

CPU City

Danja Vasiliev

Föhnseher (Seer of Warm Winds)

Gordan Savicic

julian-oliver

Netless

Packetbrücke

Servando Barreiro

TEMPEST radio

The 120days of *buntu

The Infinite Contemporaneity Device

The Transparency Grenade

weise 7

Honestly: I was about to be disappointed. Installations, Performances, Machinima, Animations, Webart,… But they also host Workshops dealing with newest technics and tools and a Symposium which addresses current topics and therefor is a good discursive platform for new media art.

A big difference to most of the new media art festivals is the wide-ranging audience visiting the exhibition. With about 1000 visitors per day and a period of one month it does not only adress the typical new media art nerds.

Because i participated with my installation “skia” in the exhibition and the symposium i had a very limited time frame to document the artworks.

But i even managed to get Christobal Mendoza for an interview, whos collaborative work “nervous structure” was one of my favourites.

Another very poetic and beautiful piece was ADA, an analog interactive installation by Karina Smigla-Bobinski.

The next work i have to explain a bit….

Enter Festival 2011, Prague

english

Enter Festival 2011

exhibition

video

dead-drops

emf-piano

enter

face-to-facebook

foodmatch

immaterials

kazamidori

media-rt

niki-passath

prague

rambler

some-kind-of-congestion

the-maze

zoe

A walk through the exhibition of this years exhibition of the enter festival in Prague. interview & editing: emanuel andel camera: andreas muk haider

A walk through the exhibition of this years exhibition of the enter festival in Prague.

interview & editing: emanuel andel
camera: andreas muk haider

Daito Manabe: Body Hack

artists

english

interview

performance

transmediale 2011

video

body-hack

daito-manabe

face-mod

shock

After flying to Berlin, a night without sleep and a full day workshop Daito showed us how his Body Hack works and how it developed.

After flying to Berlin, a night without sleep and a full day workshop Daito showed us how his Body Hack works and how it developed.

atom performance @ soundframe 2011

artists

deutsch

interview

performance

soundframe 2011

video

atom

Christopher-Bauder

marx-palast

mediaopera

monolake

rinderhallen

Robert-Henke

soundframe

white-void

Interview: Peter Schlager
Kamera: Andreas .muk.
